UNITY MATTERS

Sonia Askew,
President, NorCal Optical Chapter
360 opticians, from Lincoln to Fresno

The California Unite to Win” plan is a boon for our members. Unity matters to healthcare workers. United we will have more visibility for shop stewards on the frontlines. We’ve had an ongoing relationship with Local 250 first and then with UHW. Being part of UHW will give us the leverage and support we need when dealing with management. Since the UHW guidelines for representation are stricter, our members will get better representation and our shop stewards will get more training. Not only do we get to continue to operate as chapters, but as part of a larger family, we will be able to voice our special concerns and champion our particular issues.
